“Good photography keeps the moment from running away and captures a snapshot in time that’s impossible to recreate.”
Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.” – Photojournalist Dorothea Lange
“Photography is a love affair with life.” Documentary photographer Burk Uzzle
I’m always happy to work alongside business and commerce to come up with the right style of images to suit.
Setting up a studio in your own home or heading outdoors means clients – and pets! – feel more relaxed and at ease in front of the camera.
Book a family lifestyle / Pet photo session to capture this special time and place in all your life’s.
All the images will be put on to a presentation gift style USB or Disc and all the images from the session can be viewed also on your very own online digital album for print ordering and viewing with family and friends in a password protected gallery.
Why not ask me about my special offer on my Lifestyle photo books, because a picture is not a picture till it’s in print.
When I set up my photography business in Keith, Moray, I never imagined that the behind-the-scenes preparation and planning would have to be every bit as imaginative, creative and resourceful as thought and skill that goes into capturing the perfect picture.
Never work with children or animals, the old saying goes, but capturing images of families and their pets has become a large part of my photography workload, and it certainly keeps me on my toes as no two commissions are ever the same.
Trying to get active little girls and boys to sit and pose long enough to allow me to capture their character in a photograph does take a bit of creative thought process.
As I’m photographing them at an age and stage in their life, I like to make use of ‘props’ that they’re comfortable with. It could be a young lad wearing his favourite Man Utd football strip and boots, or with his BMX bike or X-Box Controller. It certainly serves as an icebreaker, builds a feeling of familiarity and relaxes the young sitter.
When it comes to pets, patience is a virtue that always pays off. A pet photoshoot may seem chaotic – dogs wandering off, becoming distracted or doing the exact opposite of what you were hoping for. It may seem like things are never going to work out and then – suddenly – you get a short burst in which you nail the perfect shots.
Work has come flowing in with assignments ranging from weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, family portraiture and pet portraiture to press work, media campaigns and commercial work for leading businesses in the North-east of Scotland.
It’s been fantastic to start seeing the time and effort that I’ve spent paying off, becoming recognised as a photographer and getting some great client feedback too.
I love what I do and take pleasure from seeing the reactions of people when they get to see their photos.
I look for a new angle, something different that sums up the mood or the feel of the event or occasion for clients to appreciate and enjoy. The pleasure that browsing through photographs creates never ceases; it’s a wonderful way to remember the past, or a place, and keep memories alive.
My diary is busy with bookings, but I always do my best to accommodate requests for any type of photography commission – large or small, pets or people, business or pleasure. Please get in touch with an outline of your photography needs, and together I’m sure we can come up with the perfect package.
Thanks so much for taking such lovely photos of our family for us to have as a keepsake. You are a total gent who put us all at ease.
I’ve had my little girls picture done & tbh thought (like most kids she would either be too shy or hyper) the setting that was picked was beautiful, Robbie put her so much at ease, was like no one was there. Which made them so natural. Like a painting of a little girl playing amongst the flowered. Got so many lovely photos at the end was very hard to choose a print. I’m so proud of her her prints. More than I ever expected. Treasured for life. Thank you Robbie!
We asked Robbie to come and take photos at our son Ewen’s 21st Birthday…..what we got were amazing photos that captured our night perfectly. Robbie went above and beyond what was expected to give us special memories, that we will treasure in years to come.
Robbie is absolutely great! He was first class with the kids and the puppy and very patient! Would highly recommend and will use Isla Brig again.
What an amazing day Jayne and I had for our Wedding with Robbie as our official photographer. He was there from mid morning to capture shots of Jayne and Pauline before they got ready right through to our first dance. Robbie’s easy manor and his professionalism made our day all the enjoyable and stressless to the point that we didn’t even notice him for some of the photos.. Our photos are amazing and all of our guests who have viewed them have said how stunning the are. Robbie, Jayne and i once again would like to thank you for making our day so memorable.
Best wishes for the future!
Thank you Robbie Simpson your photos are amazing you captured our special day just as we wanted to remember it. Looking through the photos today took me straight back to the moment we took or vows nice to relive such a precious moment in our lives. Perfection x
Thanks so much for taking such lovely photos of our family for us to have as a keepsake of Gordon and Doreen’s golden wedding celebrations. Robbie is a gent who put us all totally at ease. I highly recommend Isla Brig Images – 5 stars out of 5
Kanda and I would like to say thank you to Robbie for an amazing day. The outcome of the photos are unbelievable and can’t talk highly enough of Robbie’s work.
Very professional but at the same time made us feel very relaxed and actually had a great laugh whilst getting the photos taken. One thing I would say is that the price is unbelievable value and I would say Robbie needs to put his prices up. I was quoted a price for an hour but we got 2 hours for the same price.
Thank you so much. Amazing work,
